Dr. Dyani Saxby
Double Board Certified Clinical Health Psychologist

How I work:

I believe healing happens when we work with the whole person — mind, body, nervous system, and lived experience.

Many of the clients who seek me out are thoughtful, insightful, and self-aware. They have often spent years in talk therapy, read the books, and worked hard to understand their patterns, yet still feel stuck. This is not a failure of effort or insight. Trauma, chronic stress, illness, and sleep disruption are not held only in our thoughts — they are experienced and stored in the body.

My work blends evidence-based psychological treatment with somatic and mind–body approaches. We may use structured methods such as CBT-insomia ACT, EMDR, or hypnotherapy while also paying close attention to nervous system regulation, physical sensations, and intuitive signals that arise in the therapeutic process. Healing is not forced or rushed; it unfolds as safety, awareness, and capacity grow. We can sometimes simulteanously work on sleep or insomnia as well as trauma.

I am deeply interested in the body’s innate wisdom and the ways people naturally move toward healing when given the right support. This perspective is shaped by both formal training and early exposure to Indigenous healing traditions through my grandmother. I view intuition not as something unscientific, but as another form of information — one that becomes clearer and more reliable as the nervous system settles.

Clients often describe our work as grounding, spacious, and clarifying. My role is not to fix you, but to help you reconnect with internal resources, resilience, and insight that may feel inaccessible during periods of pain, exhaustion, or overwhelm.

This approach tends to resonate most with people who value depth, curiosity, and embodiment, and who are open to working at both a cognitive and somatic level. If you’re looking for therapy that honors complexity, science, and the intelligence of the body, you’re likely in the right place.

Dr. Skyler Shollenbarger
Clinical Psychologist
Certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia and Guided Imagery

How I work:

When illness, pain, and trauma have shaped your nervous system, healing requires more than willpower.

I am a licensed psychologist with specialized expertise in depression, anxiety, PTSD, chronic pain, insomnia, and trauma-related conditions. Healing requires a map and a compass. My approach combines the structure of behavioral therapy—giving you the practical tools to navigate daily life—with holistic practices that honor the whole person.

I believe that anxiety and depression are often messengers telling us that something in our lives is out of alignment. By bridgeing the gap between “doing” (changing habits/behaviors) and “being” (breath, mindfulness, and somatic awareness), we create a sustainable path toward wellness. Let’s stop just “getting through the day” and start building a life that feels authentic to you.

I also have specialized training and experience when depression, anxiety, and trauma intersect with chronic or complex medical illness.  I hold advanced training in behavioral sleep medicine and guided imagery, and my work focuses on helping clients understand and retrain nervous system patterns shaped by trauma, illness, and prolonged stress.

Many of the individuals I work with live with autoimmune conditions, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS), POTS, and other medically complex or poorly understood conditions. These experiences often involve persistent pain, fatigue, sleep disruption, and repeated encounters with feeling misunderstood or dismissed within healthcare systems. Over time, this can erode confidence, stability, and a sense of trust in one’s own body.

Trauma is not always the result of a single event. It can also develop through ongoing medical stress, unpredictable symptoms, repeated invalidation, or living in a body that no longer feels reliable. My work helps clients make sense of these experiences, identify patterns that maintain suffering, and begin shifting both physiological and psychological responses in practical, achievable ways.

My approach is holistic, trauma-informed, and evidence-based, with a strong emphasis on nervous system regulation and skill-building. Therapy is active and purposeful. We work collaboratively to clarify goals, reduce symptom intensity, improve sleep and pain management, and create strategies that clients can apply outside of session. Many clients notice changes early in treatment as they gain tools that help the body and mind settle and respond differently.

I provide a judgment-free, grounded space where clients can show up fully and be understood. Clients often describe my style as calm, steady, and reassuring, while also feeling focused and forward-moving. I believe meaningful therapy balances compassion with direction, and insight with action.

Finding the right therapist matters, particularly when trauma and chronic illness are involved. If we are a good fit, I would be honored to support you as you work toward greater stability, relief, and a renewed sense of agency — even in the context of ongoing medical challenges. d
