Dr. Dyani Saxby Background

I graduated from Spring Hill High School in the mid-nineties.  My teachers were my inspiration to find a way to help others.  I became a health psychologist because I love seeing my clients from all backgrounds thrive.  My values are based in empathy, honesty, integrity, and trust.  Regardless of my clinical training, I firmly believe you are the expert of you.  I am only here to help guide with your permission.

I graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2011 with a Ph.D. in psychology. I completed an American Psychological Association accredited internship at Wayne State University’s School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences. I completed a clinical fellowship at Marquette University’s Counseling Center. I have been a licensed clinical psychologist for 12 years helping patients improve their sleep, mental, and physical health.

I am board certified in clinical health psychology and a fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Health Psychology. As a board-certified clinical health psychologist, I have been awarded the highest level of competency in clinical health psychology.

In addition to my clinical training and certifications, I was raised immersed in indigenous healing practices. As a result, I have always been drawn toward holistic ways of healing and helping others. These experiences inspire my current practice.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Cincinnati (UC) spending much of my time working as a research assistant. I then worked as the lab manager for the Alcohol and Anxiety laboratory at UC for two years. I completed my master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

During my graduate training, I worked as a research assistant for the Brain Lab focusing on investigating the impact of substance use on emerging adult brain health and cognition. I completed internship at the Milwaukee VA Medical hospital focusing in areas of trauma and neuropsychology, as well as minor rotations in spinal cord rehabilitation, poly trauma, and geriatric psychology. I completed a two-year clinical psychology fellowship for Henry Ford Hospital.

My wife and I have a strong calling to help people live healthier lives no matter what they have been through.  I am so happy you found Red Deer Sleep and Health Psychology and look forward to exploring how we can work together.
